Food For Thought

Even though she was the only waitress

in a quickly filling room,

she moved among us

calm and unhurried,

took careful note of each request,

and with a quiet happiness,

brought each of us our choice.

I left the restaurant

as much nourished by her presence

as by my meal.

Day 108 – Why Hesitate?

On day one hundred eight

 there’s little debate.

 I’ll get my exercising in

before it’s too late.

and sprinkle her

with fairy

why, but

that makes things

worse. I guess I’ll

try offering her these French fries instead.

Sometimes an answer

comes before a request is

even made – like when

I didn’t know where to turn

and suddenly you were there.

and there’s no quick fix, but slow

What if what we are

so frantically searching for

can be found within

and what if once we find it

we see its glow everywhere?
