The delayed school day
was an opportunity
for me to work out.
Both the kids and I give thanks
for a more leisurely start.

I wanted to share this honest and beautiful poem by Kunal Thakore.
Each time the rain stops,
the birds fill the air with song.
I listen and learn.
Let the rain have its full beat
and, in time, I’ll have mine too.

Each of us must find
a way that works for us.
Stange as it may seem,
writing a poem each time
I do my exercise
holds me to the task.

“Left lane must turn left.”
I wish the signs along life’s
way were all so clear.

No words
Just peace
Sweet release.

Good lesson for life
in this daily exercise –
bend and stretch, bend and stretch, bend…

In this sparse season
leafless trees stand, limbs outstretched,
rooted and waiting.
What was has fallen away.
What will be has not yet come.

It’s not quite sublime,

but still I give it a go.

Waking from a nap,
rainy winter afternoon –
warm satisfaction
