Daffodils shiver

Daffodils shiver
as their golden trumpets
announce the approach
of this year’s stuttering Spring.

Side by side they sit
on the dock down by the pond,
those two sisters who
have weathered so much and who
find shelter in each other.
JDG
When I consider all that had to happen
in just the way it did
for me to be here right now,
I realize I am
a miracle of time and circumstance.
I grow still as I ponder
this improbable gift of life.
JDG
I don’t have to be
perfect, but I can at least
return after a few days off
and begin once more
and so I do.
JDG
Ignoring March’s
blustering winds, cherry trees
join forsythia
and golden daffodils as
budding stars of shining Spring.
JDG
Daffodil lined path
leading to a small, white church –
rural welcoming
JDG
Blown off course by March
winds, we regroup and wait for
April’s softer touch.
JDG
Wishing March wasn’t
so long-winded, didn’t love
to hear herself roar…
JDG
Overwhelmed by lots
of stuff, but made the time to
exercise today,
JDG
I love bargins,
but after unexpectedly receiving
three in a row, I grew suspicious.
Was this some kind of cosmic deal
where I would get a few small gains
in exchange for a much larger loss?
Ah, these minds of ours can sometimes
be real joy robbers.
