Intrepidly Imprudent

Even in the rain

 the squirrels came,

ever hopeful

the birdseed would be there.

Joined by cardinals and jays,

they gobbled away

and saved none

for the next rainy day.

Go Girl!

As the sky slowly

grows more clear, I feel my mood

begin to lighten

and send messages to my

feet to run and greet the sun.

Grist For The Mill

Another gray start

of day. Find myself wishing

it wasn’t this way.

Notice the bright song of birds.

Decide to join them with words.

When I Grow Anxious

With folded hands pressed against my chest, I

offer myself

comfort right

here, right

now.

I

breathe in

love, hold it

close, accepting

myself, offering kind understanding.

As I Watch

Wishing I could move

through life

with the grace

of birds

flying among

swaying branches

of leafy trees.

Nature Sings

Blackberry bushes,

magnolia trees, and daisies –

Spring chorus in white.
