I spot a small bug
trying to right itself
and decide to give it a hand
I’ve found myself there myself.

Tiny blue blossoms
bathe in the late winter sun,
a harbinger of blooms to come.

Several warm days bring
forth a colorful response
from both birds and plants.

Taking a few steps outside
into the sun’s warm embrace
brings an unexpected smile
to her worried face.

Spotting the squirrel,
Knox paused, but in the end
the pull of friendship won .
He ran off to play
with his pal Pax.
There are lots of squirrels.
but only one Pax.
The two of them took off
like bandits on the run.
When we finally tracked them down,
they showed no remorse.
After all, it was all in good fun.

I took my worries
for an early morning walk,
but they chose to take
a rest when we came upon
the sun kissing the morning dew.

The trees greet the moon
with raised branches as she
makes her way across the sky.

To those patches of snow,
Knox must go.
Who knows what lies
buried below?
JDG
A host of sparrows
flew to the porch
seeking sustenance
on this winter day.
A lone cardinal
soon flew away..
JDG
Watching the snow fall
as I sit indoors wrapped in
warmth, I am content.
