If Wishing Made It So

It’s December and the kids

are calculating the likelihood of snow.

With the temperature still in the fifties,

the likelihood is low. Still, they keep chanting,

“let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!”

Poetry, C …

Celebrating clever chaps, cherished ’cause

they cut through crap

with crazy

comic

charm.

Granddaughters’ Counsel

They took me aside, those two,

and whispered words  of encouragement.

” We  heard they have a two-for-one special

running down at VCU.

Not only can you have  your knee replaced,

but you can also get a personality redo.

Please don’t pass this up,

dear Gaba, we beg of you.”

Turbulence

Like dry leaves blown by

a restless wind, old thoughts toss

in weary heads.

Now And Forever

How quickly days change –

grey to gold to grey, then back

again. Neither gold

nor grey can stay, no matter

what those lazy pundits say.

B Poetry

But battling boredom beats being brought

down by bouts of

bothersome

blasé

blues.

Strangely

Strangely she yelled for

peace, shattering the morning’s

soft cacophony.

Poetry Of A’s

Angry adolescents of any age

adamantly

argue that

they are

right

and

you are

wrong although

any adult

will assess their argument as addled.

When In The Dark

When I’m in the dark,

I write and, if I’m lucky,

what appears is light.
