May I take this gift
of time into my arms, hold
it near my beating
heart, cherish it breath by breath
as it yawns and stretches.

I read this article this morning that contained the line “the gift (of life) we often fail to unwrap.” It looks as if you not only unwrapped this gift but embrace it as well.

Hi Joan,
I like your poem. You are right. We should cherish time since it is fleeting. When you said time stretched, it reminded me of the book A Wrinkle in Time and Einstein. Didn’t Einstein say that time is stretched into waves, and if we step between the wave, we can time travel? I’m fascinated with time travel.
Maybe you can check out my blog. I offer 10 networking events each month where you could meet new readers for your interesting poems.
