We all make mistakes.
That’s a given. It’s what we
do next that shapes our
living. Do we lie, deny,
or justify? Can
we look the truth in the eye
and begin to rectify?

I had to arrest
myself today. The charge?
Disturbing the peace.

When the icy hand of fear
grips their hearts,
it takes a lot of courage
for independent souls
to reach for help.

That whirling bit of green
almost went unseen
as it sipped nectar on the fly.
Others took their time,
but all were glad to dine
from those fulsome platters
at our garden cafe.

Today I gladly
retreat to the cool confines
of home though the dogs
protest that it can’t be called
a walk if it’s just
to the end of the driveway
and back. I beg to differ.

The pond almost seemed to beg the sky to
open as it
lay sweating
in the
sun.

Sometimes there is smoke
but no fire, yet a search
is still required.
JDG
How easy it is to keep on talking,
trying to press our point home.
Better to sit in silence together.
Things might take a surprising turn.

Socking away so
much stuff can pack quite a punch
for those left behind.
