The hours tick by
and before you know it, years
have snuck by with or
without your having done that
which you most wanted to do.

The hours tick by
and before you know it, years
have snuck by with or
without your having done that
which you most wanted to do.

Puzzled,
he looked around
as if to ask,
“Why do I have the bird feeder
all to myself?”
JDG
May we tread lightly
on this good earth,
responding
with kind eyes
and helping hands.
JDG
With the storm over
and sunlight skipping across
the fields, crows begin
to strut and squawk, claiming they’re
the bringers of light and warmth.
JDG
In big winds
deep rooted trees sway
but seldom break.
May we learn
from these wise trees.
JDG
Bathed
in the warm wash
of kindness,
I know
how healing it can be.
JDG
Out my way
cows and donkeys
graze in peace.
No fence or wall
separates them.
JDG
Imagination-
a life vest
for some,
a hornets’ nest
for others.
JDG
If only
we humans
were as committed
to seeking the light
as are these trees…
JDG
Frost covered fields
Warm sun rising
Toby and I walk
Stops and starts
Quiet outside, noise within
