within or without,
I find some paper,
pick up a pen,,
take a breath,
and write.

There’s a light glowing in each one of us
even on dark
days and nights.
Be still.

Birds, bees, and butterflies flit here and there,
reminding us
of how we
used to
be.

Big Black Bird feeding
on my porch,
I’m glad you stopped by.
Will we become friends
or will we just have
a passing acquaintance?
It’s up to you.

window, pretend
I have wings
and can
fly.

when we can once
acknowledge
we’ve been
lost.
