Seeing Whole

Both dark clouds and white

cover the sky today. Still,

the sunlight seeps through.

The Poet Addresses The Lawyer

Among the many

ways of looking at blackbirds

or anything else

curiosity without

judgement would serve us best.

Modern Marker

As the grandkids spoke

of BC, I suddenly

realized they were not

referring to ancient times

but to days before this March.

Two trees, side by side,

dogwood and cherry, drop their

petals one by one,

covering the grass below –

picnic blankets for the birds.

Heartscape

Even in these times

when the virus of fear spreads,

when uncertainty

Reflections While Sheltering In Place

If my dog Toby could drive,

use the phone or internet,

our lives would be

We walk, eat, sleep,

pee and poop, but I read,

feed the birds and

take more baths

so I guess civilization

still rests in human hands.

Just So

Droplets dot the still surface of the pond

inscribing love

messages

from the

sky.

When

we sit

in silent

contemplation

we sometimes receive love messages too.
