   The Ojibway author Gerald Vizenor interpreted/re-expressed a number of lyric poems of the Ojibway in his book Summer in the Spring. No. 19 is “Song of the Crows.” Your post reminded me of it!

   The first to come
   I am called
   Among the birds.

   The rain I bring
   Crow is my name.
