Major Rewrite

Pen at the ready,

I righted myself after

a hesitant start.

I didn’t close heart’s door or

turn away. I let

whatever came have its say

and writing rewrote me.

Morning Whisperings

The clouds above

whispered to the fields below.

Witnesses to their silent conversation

wonder what was said

that made them both turn slightly purple.

Off And On Today

Confronted by the rain,

I was given a chance

to practice peaceful nonresistance.

Sound Economics

May we not let our

differences bankrupt us. Let’s

our ability to work

with and through them to grow more rich.

An Invitation

A welcome mat

of purple flowers invites

us to stop by even

if we think we don’t have time.

Neither they nor we will last forever.

The Big Reveal

Some books raise us up,

others let us down.

Some are fast reads,

some are slow,

but if you really want to know,

take some time, settle in,

and let the book itself reveal

what lies beneath its cover.

A Toast To My Village

Even before the gathering

they handed me a cup of

self-replenishing joy.

From this communal cup

I daily drink.
