Night

Night didn’t fall.

It slowly crept upon me,

rubbing its soft darkness

against my busyness.

Knox And The Crow

Knox watched and listened

to the scolding crow,

then glancing at the birdseed,

he wagged his tail,

shook his head.

” I don’t even like that stuff,” he said.

Fresh Start

Like wild berries,

translucent raindrops hang from

Japanese maple.

It’s amazing what finding

 new environments can do.

The Only Constant

Content,

even with the weather,

as I drive through the rain

this gray February morning.

~

Later the sun

ignites the land

bringing unexpected warmth.

The only constant is my content.

Knox’s Not-So-Gentle Nudge

Whining doesn’t work

so I try a few sharp barks.

Maybe she’ll look up

and see this sunny day is

ripe with possibilities.

Worth Noting

Woke up this morning

to the beauty

and the bother

of the falling snow.

Decided to focus

on the beauty

and ignore

the bother.

By early evening

both had mostly

slipped away.
