Those gossiping crows
didn’t hem. They just cawed…and
cawed…and cawed…and cawed
’til Knox finally had enough
and silenced them with barks and huff.

Vertical porch rail,
loosed from its base, gently waves
at visiting birds.
It stood firm when needed, kept

but bask in beingness.

Taking a deep dive
into life’s rough waters
can be frightening,
but beneath the storm-tossed surface

All along the road,
redbuds reach out, extending
purple blessings to
all us unrooted ones as
we hurry on our way.
