Gently quivering water alight with
heaven’s fire –
the pond speaks
of fresh
starts.

Water droplets shimmering in the sun –
so beautiful
and yet so
quickly
gone.

Let’s move slow. Life is green and checkered,
not flawless as
we’d wished… but
so much
more.

For one short moment, now slid into then
and I was left
standing on
shifting
sand.

All those mistakes we make aren’t wasted if
we begin to
explore where
things went
wrong.

Intermingled with bare limbs and new green,
a purple-pink
blossoming –
April
fling.

Something about a certain slant of light
stirs memories
unsought but
sadly
found.

The sun – poking out from behind its clouds
