The green budded trees
reach for the sky announcing
a new season has arrived.

Separated by
a panel of sliding glass
we’re able, squirrels,
birds, cats, and I, to find peace
sharing a meal together.

After so many
learning opportunities,
I should be a genius by now.

Spring Forth
After a winter rest,
the dandelions decide
it’s time to rise and shine.

Light In The Darkness
As night starts to fall,
like many other creatures,
I return home to my nest.

With Each Breath
Just sitting with the wonder
that anything at all, including me,
is here at this very moment
on this small planet, a mere dot
in the universe we call home.

Comings And Goings
It seems the deer had
a luncheon date near my porch,
but Knox objected
so they hurriedly moved on
to a more welcoming place.

At Last
A bright light begins
to rise over a darkened
horizon marking
the start of a new day.

Autumn Leaves
They’re going out
in a blaze of color
as they add
a touch of fire
to this cool and rainy weather.
