I think I know,
but until I know
with my whole being,
body, heart, mind, and spirit,
I don’t fully know.

I think I know,
but until I know
with my whole being,
body, heart, mind, and spirit,
I don’t fully know.

Speeding through our lives,
we fail to yield to tiny
passing moments of wonder.
JDG
Even though temperatures
are forecast to rise,
the gentle fall of leaves today
assures us Autumn
will have the final say.
JDG
Knox and I look
at the same thing,
but we each see
something different.
I see something
to throw away.
He sees something
to grab and play.
JDG
Birds sound off with
caws and croaks,
chirps and tweets,
honks and hoots,
trills and twitters,
but unlike us,
they don’t sound off
with lies.
JDG
The blue blooms linger,
inviting the yellow blooms
to linger too, to join in
this late summer offering
before the days grow cold
and they too must depart.
JDG
Across the pasture
and the road, the morning mist
slowly crawls, causing
us to crawl too. Through the mist
we see what we might have missed..
JDG
The moon gently puts
the stars to bed
before she heads there too.
JDG
Knox almost felt he
could touch the moon so drunk
was he on its light.
Head tilted toward the sky, he
howled, begging it to come close.
JDG
If only my mind
were as still as the morning
after a long, rainy night.
