When the young mess up,

it’s called folly. For us old

folks, it’s called senility.

until they get in my way.

strength in vulnerability

the old can bring forth new too.

touch to Monday’s rain-soaked scene

and chases the gray away.

me delights in spring’s return

with its young and tender green.

For a brief time Spring

let Winter linger, knowing

her day in the sun would come.

Old turtle crossed road

looking for a better life.

Found heaven on other side.
