has a touch of magic.
The mist blurs the edges,
makes us look closely
at what’s before us.

us better than we might think.

a frosty greeting, but
responded with warmth anyway.

Our cats gave a delighted sigh.
Now they had more than enough.

Murphy invites me to join
her in a moment of purrs.

After a deep dive
into unknown waters, we
emerge to find the known changed.

On this gray day
a cardinal’s flash of red
ignites a small flame
of unexpected joy.

When I get lassoed by my thoughts
and dragged this way and that,
Knox comes to my rescue with
a stick, a toy,a soulful look,
an invitation to wordless play.
