Beaver Moon

Yesterday nothing was halfway

as sun, moon, and earth aligned

and for a moment the full moon

was totally eclipsed, but soon

she escaped earth’s shadow.

May earth escape ours as well.

    I hope you got to see the eclipse. We had an unusually clear night and was able to watch the eclipse through totality but it set before we could see it brighten up again. It was an amazing morning. Love the analogy in your poem, Joan.
