Just Enough

Today I’m settled enough

to move beyond fear.

At the time I was settled enough

to offer thanks.

I was driving just fast enough

and the pick-up truck

that ran a red light,

slammed into my car,

and sent me spinning

was driving just slow enough

that no one was hurt.

There was real damage, yes,

but Knox was not in the car.

Today I am settled enough

to move beyond fear.

Today I offer thanks.
