Here Too

With a long porch railing

spread with seeds,

some birds edge each other out.

For a while other, less assertive birds,

peck away in peace until

the ME-BIRDS return

squawking, ” Me, me, me. All mine.”.

Love this! The porch rail at my place is “crows only” but the “me, me” birds would have to be the starlings at my window feeder – all others scatter when they arrive.

And yet, there’s enough for all. Cheers, Dabney
