To Savor Anything

To savor anything, go slow… go slow.

Even reading

poems must

not be

rushed.

Take

one small

bite, feel each

syllable in

your mouth. Don’t swallow them whole. Slow, go slow.

David Whyte reads his poems more than once at events.
At productions of Shakespeare I long for time to absorb the lines but alas that cannot be lest it take all night.
In general, I am of the age to want almost everything to slow down.
