Big Night (a guest post by Kali Wells, age 11)

Big night.

Stars bright.

All the spectators tonight.

I’ve trained for days

and tonight’s the night.

You sound great,”

they say but

all I think is how absurd!

My voice isn’t ready.

My voice isn’t there.

But

then I say, “Hold on.

I’ve been told I’m ready.

I’ve been told I’m good

I’m there!”

 I lift up my head

high and proud.

All I want is to sing it out loud.

I’m here.

I’m ready.

My time is now.

This is great! I love there way it captures the nervousness before a performance and the realization that you are ready, after all.
