The Truth

When I was younger

and my father already old,

I spoke the truth.

He listened.

He spoke.

“If I take in all you’ve said,

I’d have to believe my whole life

was based on a lie.

I’m not strong enough to do that.”

No denials.

No explanations.

No justifications.

Just one truth met with another.

I’m so glad my words were helpful to you. Writing this poem was helpful to me too. As Kim Rosen said,”Some of my poems are the voice of the self I am growing into.”

Holy Moly and OMGoodness. Each day I pray simply, “Health and Help” and today the Universe helped through you. I have been struggling with a negative action from someone directed at me…… In my mind I could find no reason for it, I needed a reason…….and now I have one. Our Truths are different. Thank you Joan for your insights and the peace they provide, Debbe
