Many Voices, One Song

I awoke to many voices

singing one song –

a praise to Spring –

some loud, some soft,

some raucous, some subdued, but all

welcoming this

new day. I don’t

know who was more

happy, them or me, the singers

or the one who

listens to such

full-throated song.

I find it funny, I keep reading ‘welcoming of spring’ poems today, and yesterday I wrote a poem saying goodbye to the winter.

I like how you break this up, nice quick lines. The final image of who is more blissful in the coming, the singers or the listener, is a very nice portrayal. I’ve never looked at it like that before, even just thinking of an everyday singer versus listener. It’s making me think of when I’m more happy, when I sing in the car or when I shut myself up and listen…. Very intriguing thought. 🙂

Lovely nature poem. I just wish spring were actually here where I live.
