A Cold Wind Blows

A cold wind blows across the land.

Bare limbs sway as

ravens circle

high in a grey,

cloud-covered sky. Farther

along the path,

two bright blue birds

sweep past, drawing

the eye to the far horizon

where the sun still

shimmers behind

low hanging clouds.

The juxtaposition of grey cloud and shimmering sun in your poem reflects the highs and lows of the emotions of the past few days. It reminds me at the end of a very stressful week that the sun still shines. Thank you for this reminder that at low moments, there is hope.–Em
