Caught in an inner narrative
of anger, hurt
and fear, I left
the here and now
and entered if and then, losing
touch with simply
is. I stayed in
that nowhere place
until I somehow found my way
back with ” May I
be well. May you
and all be well.”

Joan: I really “feel” this poem – because I have lived it. It describes, for me, the path negative emotion takes us on especially leaving “the here and now,” entering “if and then.” and the “nowhere place.” The conclusion, like the resolution – of discomfort brings/feeds peace. Thanks. Cheryl.

I really appreciate your thoughtful comments. They are so specific, clear, and well expressed I think you must be a writer yourself. Warmly, Joan
