I watch as those wild balls of thought

ricochet and

set other balls

rolling too. Soon

the table’s a cacophony.

Feelings and thoughts

knock around as

I tell myself

I’m not the ball. Then this thought too,

now a ball, joins

all the others.

So goes the game.
