Peach colored skies
announce the sun’s near arrival.
Knox and I walk,
hoping its visit will last.

As I get older words and I play
hide and seek nearly every day.
They’ve become so good at hiding
I’m relieved when at last they’re found.

Walking with Knox
on this drizzly fall morning,
trying to be patient
as he gives each and every leaf
a very thorough sniff.

Reblogged this post from my son.
Faith is a small bird
singing bravely in the dark
heralding the Dawn.
Autumn showers us with leaves of gold,
Spring with forsythia and daffodils,
Summer with stunning sunflowers.
Winter, too, brings many gifts,
but dog pee on pristine snow
is not the gold I’m looking for.

weeding and pruning if we’re
to keep on growing.

Uneventful days
are days I’ve come to treasure
with each passing year.

Sunny afternoon,
golden moments with friends as
Knox searches for sticks.

The golden silence
of autumn trees
on a breezeless day
invites us to take
refuge in their leaves.

Knox and the ladies line up by my bed
sighing deeply at my selfishness.
Here they are starving as I try
to catch a few more winks
of much needed sleep.
