In stillness
silence sang
a wordless song
unaccompanied
by worry.

Poetic Choice
Today if I could
live inside a poem, I
think I’d choose a funny one.
one that only later I
would see offered more than laughs.

Then And Now
Once upon a pond
mother ducks and ducklings played.
After they left the pond grew still,
but memories of their play has stayed.

Flying High
Making music
on the fly,
those birds head
for warmer climes.

Beneath And Beyond
When we strip away
our stories all that’s left is
pure experience.

Knox, The Cats, The Kids, And Me
Enthusiasms abound
for everyone here.
Sometimes I long for
a wee touch of ennui, but

Today And Every Day

enthusiastic thanks.
I’ll take my cue from him.

The Magic Of Mist
Though gray, the day
has a touch of magic.
The mist blurs the edges,
makes us look closely
at what’s before us.

Final Aspiration
At the finish line
I want to be able to
look back on a race well run.

The Knower And The Known
Years of unconscious
preparation preceded
that initial step.
The unknown parts of us know
us better than we might think.
