When you’re pricked by thorns, it’s real easy to

lose sight of the

blooms and their

fragrant

scent.

on their long

flight back

The light shines bright, but our vision grows dim,

clouded by our

focus on

other

things.

Sometimes you receive the just right book at

the just right time.

This was one

of those

books.

Leaves, distinctly singular, but like each 

of us, one part

 of a much

larger

whole.

What lingers after my walk this morning –

four small, red leaves

hanging from

a gray

branch.

The pond, reflecting on all the sun shows

but leaves unsaid,

waits to hear

from the

wind.

After the rain the trees had no need for

a rainbow. They

turned themselves

into

gold.

Even now, from the old green new green grows,

knowing Winter’s

cold promise

will be

kept.
