Finally

After a slow start

and in a more muted way

a halting hallelujah

to a season much delayed.

A Wrong Turn

For now we’ll have to

drive a while in the wrong

direction, but stay

alert – there will be chances

ahead for course corrections.

License Plate Commentary

WHOOPTDO, it said.

Was this snark just a comment

on the general state

of things or a bored response

to this heated election?

Bureaucratic Bliss

Reattestation –

a process that attests to

the mindless triumph

Whispers of Gold

Early morning mist

wanders among Autumn trees,

whispers of golden

moments yet to come before

the long, cold claim of winter.

His love of all words

sesquipedalian makes

but, alas, he seldom meets

a big word he doesn’t like.

Time Travel

Time it takes to wheel

trash can to curb: two minutes.

Time it takes teenage

girl with cell phone to wheel trash

can to curb: an eternity.
