Alone

in an empty room,

a hand touches mine.

With the birdseed in place

the show begins, but

it soon takes a turn

when squirrels storm the stage.

What began as a homespun tale

becomes an action packed drama

until Knox rushes in and saves the play.

Try though it might, the wind couldn’t

shake sunlight from the trees

or uproot the grass though

it did have some fun with the trash.

I try to work with technology,

but sometimes it’s determined

not to work with me.

That’s when I go looking

for a grandkid ’cause

they’re on better terms.
