To those patches of snow,
Knox must go.
Who knows what lies
buried below?

To those patches of snow,
Knox must go.
Who knows what lies
buried below?

A host of sparrows
flew to the porch
seeking sustenance
on this winter day.
A lone cardinal
soon flew away..
JDG
Now that the sun’s set
we sit waiting for the moon
to chase the stars across the sky.
JDG
That broken limb now
touches the ground, but once it
tried to touch the sky.
JDG
The choice seeds go first,
but as the day goes on all
the rest are soon gone.
JDG
With indignation
Knox surveys the falling rain
then looks up at me
as if to say “I guess this
means another indoor day.”
JDG
The orchestral sound
of mewing cats, barking dogs,
and chirping birds starts the day.
Occasionally I’d prefer
a milder rendition.
JDG
When push comes to shove
at the bird feeder, some birds
fight; others take flight.
JDG
Slipping and sliding
becomes splishing and splashing
as the icy mass
slowly succumbs to warmer
temperatures and the sun.
JDG
Yesterday we got
a three-in-one package from
Mother Nature: rain, sleet, snow.
