and on our walks has released

Right now I’m at work
at the feeder tending to
another, more pressing need.

on a run this morning. but

white clouds gather to welcome
the emerging sun.

that small plant found a crack
in the concrete, emerged and shared
its purple and gold beauty with the world.

Though there’s plenty of seed for all
the birds and squirrels
still bicker – an ever present flaw
in all creatures great and small.
JDG

or have you been here all the time?
Either way, I’m glad
we finally met.
