Leaves wave goodbye
to setting sun.
Moon and stars
will be here soon
and we’ll see things
in a different light.

chasing involved, Knox and deer,
rabbits, walkers, birds,
squirrels, and runners peacefully

clang and clamor,
a bit of music,
faint but clear,
breaks through
inviting us to listen
and maybe sing.

When our thoughts wander
into the past and get caught
in harsh mind thickets,
let’s gently remove ourselves
and apply compassion’s salve.
JDG

carrying a big stick, Knox
knows he rules the land.
