Walking as the rain
began. First a worm, then some
ants crossed our path. Hope
they will find some shelter soon
as Knox and I head for home.

it can help to idle awhile

to get to where we want to go.

Freshly mowed grass
receives slowly rising sun
with a sparkling smile.

A sudden burst of
energy as I move to
music from my youth.
I find I can dance and play
in a graceful, ageless way.

Evening arrives with
the deer reclaiming the yard
as their own, grazing,
relaxed but vigilant, as
we, too, wait for night to fall.

between possibility and perfection ?

Sami made is broken,
but even if it can’t be fixed,
I’ll keep it because
it still holds pencils and memories.
