Here in Virginia
this Wednesday morning, even
the sky is crying.

Even the birds seem
confused. It’s mid-October
and eighty degrees.

As Sunday slowly
slipped away, the sun set off
a stunning display.

Autumn morning mist
wraps us in a ghostly gauze
of grey – a haunting.
JDG
The peace of early
morning – may its soft current
flow throughout the day.

there, but I am not aware.

Billowing clouds, sun
streaked sky accompany this
summer’s long goodbye.
JDG
riding the waves of
rolling hills, three sun-lit deer
on a summer morn
Lying still, watching
the clouds slide by, the waves break,
breath move in and out.
JDG
If only reason
and love spread as fast as this
rain-soaked summer grass.
