Dark clouds,
High winds,
We creatures
Seek shelter,
Watch, wait.

Dark clouds,
High winds,
We creatures
Seek shelter,
Watch, wait.

Rain one minute;
sunny skies the next.

of devouring red,
of disintegrating black,
of stultifying grey,
we can hear the call of green.

Right now a few bend over in despair,
others hold onto the past,
many put out cautious feelers,
and some spring forward,
blooming with hope.

of kindnesses.

a small opening –
a glimmer of light.

we’re well on our way
to a new destination
only to discover the path
is longer than we thought.
JDG
Scattered among
last year’s fallen leaves –
tiny blue promises
of this year’s
budding life.
JDG
Boundaries that allow
for connected separateness
aren’t too soft
or too hard
when we dance well together.

Knowing that the storyteller within
weaves all kinds of tales,

with interest without
getting caught in the web.
