Domestic Discourse

These housemates of mine

don’t need words. Their eyes, their barks,

their yips and meows, their purrs

and hisses, their moans and nudges,

their sighs and snuggles

speak clearly without a syllable spoken.

They listen to my words, but

they’re not really needed.

They get me completely without them.
