What The Sparrow Knows

Amidst the cacophony of crows

and the bluster of barnyard geese

a single sparrow sings,

adding its sweet voice

to the moment’s harsh melody.

Even if no one is listening

or its voice is overcome by shriller birds,

the sparrow knows to keep on singing anyway.
