Five Quinzaines To Ponder

Quinzaines are short verse forms consisting of 15 syllables in 3 lines. The first line has 7 syllables and makes a statement. The second line has 5 syllables and begins a question. The third line has 3 syllables and ends the question.

Einstein looked up at the stars.

Was what he saw quite

relative?

Eve gave Adam an apple

but did he have to

take a bite?

       I glimpse a flashing blue light.

What’s my excuse? Will

he buy it?

In the night a floor board creaks.

Is something coming

or going?

~~

Picasso gave her a  look.

What interfered with

his vision?
