After seventy years filled with

lots of fussing

when things did not

go as I thought

they should, I had a moment of

unexpected

grace at Kroger’s

when they had to

empty my bags and begin again.

I simply said

and truly meant,

“It’s not your fault.”

Those years of mindfulness paid off

and I did not

add to suffering-

mine or theirs.
