Out beyond the dark clouds lies

blue sky. Though it’s

close to day’s end,

the sun breaks through,

gilding the tops of trees, and for

one brief moment,

lending a touch

of gold to what

had been overlaid with gray. Just

one moment, then

comes the night and

perhaps more rain.
