Remember when the mantra was
“Be here now” – now
with all its too
muchness, its not
enoughness? Now all that has changed.
What rings in our
heads now is, “Be
anywhere but
here,” as we get out our mobile
devices and
flee from being
just here, just now.

Hear, Hear! and Here, Here!! And I say to my unsmart, prepaid cell phone procured for me by my partner two years ago, “Someday I may actually have to make a call on you before the purchased minutes expire . . . but I hope not.”
