I enjoyed this poem. Before reading it, I had posted today’s journal for my sixth grade students: What does “We the people…” mean? Where have you seen or heard this? It’s nice to by in sync with you!

I have always LOVED the American decree: “We the people…” and I appreciate where you took it from there with the President “pointing us back to where we began.” Joan, you also tied it all together nicely with, “Not one of us is self-created.” Clearly, a beautiful piece.
