showing you were also here.

That small blue tailed skink
took our welcome mat at its word
and slithered through the door
causing quite an uproar as cats
and dogs made it clear
skinks are not welcome here.

When northern lights came
south, the stars twinkled with glee
at this show of unity.

When minds are made up,
inner umbrellas shield from
factual downpours.

A bit of a chill
in the morning air quickened
our pace, prevented
us from being frozen in
place – much to Knox’s approval..

From beyond the grave
you changed the lives of the living
with your unexpected gift.
You were a doctor who
brought healing to
both bodies and souls.
My heart swells with gratitude
for your caring presence in my life.
