It’s a winding road
from birth to death with many
unexpected stops and turns, but
I’m glad I get to make this trip
and don’t have to go alone.

a moving reminder that DEI

Watching the snow fall
as I sit indoors wrapped in
warmth, I am content.

When a heartfelt plea
for mercy is scorned,
and the pleader denigrated,
it’s pretty clear
with whom the spirit of the lord resides.

Hearing his friend bark,
Knox got a big doggy grin
and bounded off in search of him.
He left behind unchased squirrels, but
he’ll tend to them another time.

The dark may be good
for sleeping, but we shouldn’t
decide to live there.

Birds open their wings to fly.
If we’d open our hearts and minds,
there’s no telling where we’d fly or
even how high. Why not give it a try?

conspire to fill
the emptiness, not with leaves,
buy with shinning, golden light

When my dear friend
gave me a small piano,

and much needed gift –
inspiration to improve
my space by ridding myself
of accumulated clutter.
